NORTH
I was born in the North of England in the mining town of Barnsley
Surrounded by hills and muck heaps from hundreds of coal mines
The landscapes both rural and urban have a special meaning for me
They speak deeply and tell different stories to those of the south
Of hard-working people, unsung beauty
